2014 may had been Singapore's 49th birthday, but it had surely been overshadowed by something bigger - the BIGGEST celebration of Singapore's independence yet, something that certainly couldn't be contained in own year of 2015.
Now that the Singapore "almost" 50 celebrations are out of the way, we are on the road to Singapore's Golden Jubilee, and I am glad to be taken along the ride.
First stop, an exciting SG50 roadshow that had been travelling the heartlands. Toa Payoh Hub is the second in a three stops tour around Singapore to boost the awareness of SG50, what it means, and how all Singaporean's can get involved - and trust me, there are a lot of ways to get involved.
Today, I learnt that SG50 celebrates 3 distinct aspects - our heritage, our community and our dreams.
I see it only fitting as a citizen of this nation to be a part of anything SG50. So I am urging anyone who reads this to head down to the roadshow if you have the time. It's a great experience, especially as a family activity, and being physically there is way better than just reading it here. But here's what you can expect.
The SG 50 roadshow at Toa Payoh HDB Hub continues today until 6pm. If you can't make it, the final stop will be at Northpoint Shopping Centre, Basement 1 on 27 to 28 September! It is just next to Yishun MRT station.
Singapore - Celebrate her, learn more about her, because we are part of her.
