This series goes in search of the creepiest critters on the planet, teaching kids that even the most hair-raising animals are not as scary as you might think.

Naomi Wilkinson is nervous of anything that bites, stings or goes bump in the night. But this intrepid heroine doesn’t let her fears stop her. This series sees her getting up close to some of nature’s creepiest creatures, showing children that – even if you’re scared of something – it’s best to be brave and find out what it’s really like.

Naomi discovers that no creature is as scary as she first thought. From the grisliest critters with a softer side, to the cute animals with a dark secret, she’s out to investigate. She travels across the world, taking in exotic locations including the tropical paradise of Thailand, the frozen forests of northern Finland and the seas of Mexico’s Baja peninsula.

Along the way Naomi encounters rascally raccoons terrorising New York, gives mouth-to-mouth to the largest venomous snake on the planet, and takes a dip with a shark the size of a bus. Whether taking on a blood-spurting reptile in a Wild West standoff, or swinging like a gibbon on a rainforest assault course, Naomi is equal to the terrifying tests that come her way.

But what will she choose as her ultimate nightmare of nature? Face the fear and join Naomi on her treacherous journey to find out.

BBC Earth is on Starhub Channel 407.
